[ English ]

Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That is because the Native bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for years. Guests from many of the neighboring states load up in vans and travel to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 IGRA followed a benchmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Indian bands located in Oklahoma have opened gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gaming laws, and today control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were built on. computerized games like slot machines were not permitted, on the grounds that they are thought to lead to gambling addiction more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma rules have changed to allow for large Native gambling gambling dens. You’ll now find Indian gambling halls with slots, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are still not allowed in the Native casinos as of yet, but this is simply a waiting game. No one can authority what having different games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
